Dwell was born out of a desire to see foster, adoptive, and kinship families thrive for the sake of the children they care for. We exist to wrap around these families and offer support. Through our programs, we bridge the gap so that all children in care, have a safe, loving, forever home in which to dwell.

Hope Chest Request
Children often enter foster care with very few personal belongings. Dwell's Hope Chest provides clothing, hygiene essentials, comfort items and games to help build family connection.
Approximately 50% of foster families will discontinue fostering within their first year of licensure (ASPE Report). This is due to a significant lack of support and resources available to them. On average, a child in foster care will move 4 times within their first year in care. This often compounds trauma for children and puts a tremendous strain on the foster care system. Seeing the direct impact of these realities, Dwell desires to bridge the gap by providing services and a supportive community to foster, adoptive, and kinship families. When families feel heard and supported, 90% will continue fostering past their first year. This is why Dwell exists - because we believe that when we feel loved, nurtured, and cared for, we are better equipped to love, nurture, and care for the littles and the bigs in our home. Dwell is not a placement agency or orphanage. Instead, we focus on bridging the gaps within the foster and kinship care system by providing essential support services. Our goal is to enhance the foster care experience for children, families, and caregivers by offering resources, guidance, and advocacy.
